Senior Manager, Outsourcing and Vendor Governance (OVG) -- Remote | WFH

Position Summary

As the Senior Manager of Outsourcing and Vendor Governance, you will play a key role in supporting the outsourcing and governance of external GxP vendors for our current and future clinical trials. This role focuses on Clinical Operations and Biometrics, ensuring that we partner with the best service providers to advance our clinical development programs.

Key Responsibilities

Cultivate Relationships: Develop strong relationships with both internal teams and external GxP vendors to drive our clinical development programs forward.

Negotiations: Lead negotiations for final scopes of work, budgets, and payment schedules with GxP vendors, incorporating input from cross-functional stakeholders.

Contract Management: Oversee the contract negotiation process with support from our legal team and ensure all contracts are properly routed and approved.

Vendor Selection: Assist in the identification and selection of GxP vendors through the generation of RFIs, RFPs, and budget grids/trackers.

Bid Coordination: Coordinate bid defenses and proposal review meetings to select the best vendors.

Vendor Governance: Facilitate vendor governance meetings, track performance via Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and ensure adherence to contract terms.

Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of processes and tools related to outsourcing and vendor governance.

Project Management: Manage general and departmental ad hoc projects as needed and take on management and oversight of direct reports when required.

Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest in drug development and clinical operations to enhance your effectiveness in this role.

Qualifications

Education: BA/BS in a related discipline with at least 8 years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and applicable experience.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in clinical business operations and/or outsourcing and vendor governance, preferably in a CRO, Biotech, or Pharmaceutical setting. At least 5 years in a management role.

Skills: Strong understanding of drug development, vendor budgets, and payment terms. Experience with RFI/RFP development, proposal evaluation, and contract management.

Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail. Proven ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Self-Starter: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Effective in a matrix cross-functional environment with strong business judgment.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in presenting budget information.

Accountability: High sense of accountability and urgency.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Physical Activities: Primarily desk-based work with occasional walking and light lifting (up to 25 lbs.). The noise level is typically low to moderate.

Travel: Occasional travel (up to 5% of your time) may be required.

Compensation And Benefits

Salary Range: $127,000 - $169,000 per year.
