We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Senior Manager, Operations Finance to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a strategic role in the financial operations of our engineering firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of our operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. This is a key leadership role, providing financial guidance and support to our operations team, and contributing to our overall business strategy.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for the operations department, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.
• Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior management, including commentary on variances to budget, forecast, and prior year.
• Develop and maintain financial reports to clearly communicate actual results, forecasted performance, and variances to plan, forecast and budget.
• Collaborate with operations leadership to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Develop and maintain robust financial models to support decision making.
• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial information.
• Manage the financial risk of the operations department, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
• Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, products costing, etc.
• Mentor and develop a team of financial analysts, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. MBA or equivalent preferred.
• Professional certification such as CFA/CPA or similar will be considered a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, with a proven record of success in financial planning and operations, preferably within the engineering industry.
• Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Advanced knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance, and information analysis.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Able to manage, guide, and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.
• High level of commercial acumen and a proven ability to establish financial strategy and translate this into operational plans.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a detail-oriented mindset.
• Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
