The Senior Manager, Operational Risk role is a role within the 2nd Line of Defense, it is there to assist the business by providing a strong independent framework to execute business priorities, capturing, monitoring and reporting of risks as they pertain to RBC Bank (Georgia). The Senior Manager shares the responsibility of the development, implementation and maintenance of the Operational Risk Framework throughout RBC Bank, while ensuring alignment with the IHC and enterprise-wide ORM strategy for the management of operational risk (ORM), including articulation of the operational risk profile and risk appetite for RBC Bank. The individual will share in the management of the control environment throughout RBC Bank and recommend management action to ensure the operational risk profile supports the achievement of business objectives and will participate in operational risk reviews and feedback on the operational risk impact of major change initiatives, process improvements and transformational projects.
What will you do?
Support the Management of the Operational Risk Program and Practices
Participate in the management and provide oversight of ORM policies, standards, processes and tools for all operational risk management programs
Monitor loss events/incidents as well as key risk indicator trends and provide analysis for a view of systemic issues and trends used for assessment of action plans.
Maintenance of the Change Initiative Risk Assessment Process (IRP Process).
Supports the team in ensuring timely/active management and resolution of Operational Risk Management Issues and Action items, Internal Audit issues and MRAs.
Review Issues and provide oversight and challenge feedback as they are entered into ARCHER and as they are closed in ARCHER to align with updated Enterprise Standard.
Lead Scenario Analysis Workshop and obtain all work and approvals to facilitation completion across the organization. Assist and advise 1LOD on Scenario Analysis program.
Execute reviews of operational risk programs to ensure they continue to be appropriate based on emerging risk trends, thematic risks, and regulatory changes. Recommend new or revised assessments and advise unit management on mitigation strategies.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience.
6-8 years previous work experience in banking or financial services industry
Strong knowledge of operational risk practices
Nice-to-have
Previous experience working with securities-based lending products
Operational Risk Certification
