Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Marketing Technology helps to guide the continuous evolution of our marketing technology, including the stack and customer data platform, emerging technology, vendor relationships, our Customer Data Platform (CDP), and solutions that enable delivery of highly personalized content at scale to increase conversion throughout the marketing funnel. As a subject-matter expert of MarTech solutions, the Senior Manager, Marketing Technology will be the point person on the Marketing department’s partnerships with third-party marketing technology, as well as the partnerships between the Marketing department and other Harbor Freight departments.



Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the day-to-day contact in our Marketing department’s vendor partnerships with marketing technology vendors, including coordinating the process of identifying vendors, partnering across the organization with sending requests for proposal, coordinating the evaluation of these vendors, guiding the stakeholders to a conclusion, and managing the day-to-day operations, payment, and communication with the vendors.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on marketing technology solutions, vendors, and use cases aligned with both current marketing needs and new initiatives.
  • Partner with Marketing, Merchandising, IT, and e-commerce teams to understand evolving customer and product marketing objectives and operational requirements. Recommend and implement solutions enabling seamless data-driven audience targeting and personalized content.
  • In partnership with partners within Marketing and across the organization, help to guide the ongoing operations of our customer data platform (CDP).
  • Provide thought leadership, develop use cases, implement new technology, and support ROI projections on new and emerging personalization technology across platforms.
  • Identify technology to advance our digital marketing, email marketing, mobile app, and SMS reach, audience segmentation, journey implementation, and content automation.
  • Lead implementation of customer identity resolution initiatives and provide thought leadership on emerging consumer privacy trends and potential impact on the business.
  • Partner with leadership to measure and evaluate current effectiveness of the marketing technology stack, identify opportunities, gaps, and emerging capabilities to continually optimize all digital programs.
  • Partner with IT to manage our Marketing IT roadmap, collect business requirements, ensure on-time and accurate delivery of planned Martech solutions.
  • Oversee the software developers within the Marketing department and at our vendor partners, including regular code reviews, development cycle planning, and project management.

Education and Experience


Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Math, Computer Science or related field
  • MBA preferred but not required.


Years of Experience

  • 10+ years of experience leading marketing technology implementations
  • Expert knowledge in first party data collection and management
  • Expert knowledge of CRM, email service providers, mobile app technology, and Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) preferred
  • Experience with tag management platforms
  • Deep experience with identity resolution solutions
  • Expert knowledge of consumer privacy regulations


Skills

  • Experience managing vendor relationships required
  • Experience in software development in a consumer-facing function preferred
  • Experience with project management preferred
  • Experience managing staff members preferred
  • Excellent team leadership, planning, and execution skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage and lead project teams/resources operating in multiple departments


Physical Requirements

General office environment requiring ability to:

  • Stand, walk, sit for extended periods of time .
  • Speak and listen to others in person and over the phone and video conferencing.
  • Use keyboard and read from computer screen and reports.
  • The ability to lift up to 15 lbs.


The anticipated salary range for this position is $127,800 - $191,600 depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits to Associates (and their families) such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability. Eligible Associates are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, as well as a deferred compensation plan. Associates will accrue paid time off up to 236 hours per year, (inclusive of PTO, floating holidays and paid holidays). Paid sick time up to 80 hours per year unless otherwise required by law.
