Job Overview
This position is responsible to lead the company initiative to move towards lean production environment. Acts as a central resource for lean manufacturing concepts and assists with day-to-day production support and improvements. The position is responsible to manage team and all activities for a lean production philosophy, productivity and safety advantages, environment, and implementation. A technical background combined with product/management skills is needed. This position will interact with all areas of the business. This includes but not limited to engineering, marketing/sales, production, quality control, documentation, and sourcing.

Key Job Responsibilities
- Develop principal work standards and line balancing for productivity.
- Identify manufacturing cost reductions and provide ROI justifications for change.
- Optimize machining processes to reach product quality, efficiency, and process repeatability.
- Expose, Train, Execute all LEAN manufacturing techniques and design (DMAIC, A3, 5S, RCA, VSM, X &R Charts, JIT, Kaizen, Yamazumi Board, FMEA etc.)
- Optimize workflow and cell designs and introduce cost-effective automation for productivity and safety advantages.
- Track and execute cost reduction for process improvements.
- Plan, execute and manage projects to complete through product continuous improvement.
- Communicate Lean group’s philosophy, vision, and expectations.
- Develop and sustain employees training and development on lean concepts.
- Develop measurement systems supporting lean manufacturing philosophy.
- Lead value stream mapping exercises to determine and record business improvement areas.
- Develop and implement 5S & Visual Management Controls.
- Coach, mentor, and train others in all Lean Sigma DMAIC concepts and tools.
- Leads Kaizen Problem Solving events and oversees the implementation for future state VSM transformation plans.
- Defines processes, IT tools, training, systems, etc. to be used by the manufacturing community.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Methods, or Mechanical Engineering and 3 to 5 years’ experience in construction/heavy truck/equipment methods manufacturing, tool design, and related activities.
- Proficient with computer applications (Excel, Word, etc.). AUTOCAD, Pro-E, 2-D and 3-D experience.
- Experience in assembly of large equipment on moving lines, including tooling, materials presentation, standards, and line balance.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to simultaneously work on many projects is required.
- May sit for long periods of time. Some standing, stooping, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling.
- Must comply with all environmental, quality and safety rules, practices and standards.
- Must project a cooperative and positive attitude toward customers, employees and the Company.
- Travel – 50%
- Preferred Skill - Bi-lingual preferred (Spanish or Mandarin)
