Robinson Group has been retained by our global, Fortune 500 client to fill a key, newly created Senior Manager of Global Procurement/Strategic Sourcing opportunity.


(REMOTE from anywhere in the US, with some minimal travel).


*Must have recent and relevant semiconductor sourcing/procurement experience.

The person in this role will be responsible for driving the vision, direction and execution of the Semiconductor, OSAT, and related Indirect Materials/capital spending categories for our client, an electronic component business.


They will report to the Head of Procurement and will significantly enhance business performance through the effective leadership of the most strategic elements of the electronic components business spend.


*This person will be key in building and driving this team to world class performance in sourcing, procurement and supplier management - all is fully supported by the entire organization to ensure this person's success.


*This is a highly visible and transformational leadership role, tasked with leading the organization in developing and executing a strategy to leverage the spend to enable a strategic technology roadmap, improve productivity, optimize cost efficiency, and align with key business unit roadmaps.



Industry Experience:

  • Must have semiconductor sourcing/procurement experience.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the sourcing and procurement of Semiconductors, OSAT and related IndirectMaterials / Capital spending categories. This includes the category strategy, planning,and executing combined with supplier evaluation, selection, contracting, performance and development.
  • Drive the creation of long-term supply and technology development agreements with the Foundries.
  • Drive negotiation of the wafer costs and Foundry services to obtain competitive purchasing conditions for the company.
  • Ensure timely delivery of qualified direct and indirect related materials, capital to support, and other related items.
  • Define overall strategic direction for category team, including defining and driving performance metrics, proactive procurement process development, assuring supplier diversity and compliance, deploying cost modeling, and developing appropriate market intelligence.
  • Develop and enable the integration of best practices across the components business for this category globally, ensuring the best use of effective sourcing and supply chain tools, techniques and processes.
  • Build a diverse, high performing sourcing team. Coach, mentor, and develop outstanding sourcing talent across the team.
  • Oversee the management of existing supplier relationships and the selection of new sources of supply where needed and appropriate, ensuring that high quality and cost- effective materials are available to the company in building a resilient supply chain.
  • Leverage a global perspective to quickly assimilate external information (e.g. market drivers, macroeconomic conditions, etc.) to anticipate its impact across the business and develop associated strategies and action plans to maximize the opportunity.
  • Think and act globally to lead and collaborate effectively on a cross-functional basis.
  • Align business units, local, regional and global organizations to maximize achievement of sourcing objectives and continuity of supply to position sourcing as a competitive advantage for the company.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Masters Preferred) in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business or Finance.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, and/or Operations functions.
  • Semiconductor sourcing or industry experience in global, high complexity and mix, manufacturing environments.
  • Strong track record of developing and implementing a strategic plan resulting in significant financial and operational benefits for the organization.
  • Worked in multiple geographies and is comfortable with different cultures.
  • Change management aptitude and experience.
  • Motivated, self-driven, positive approach to consensus building and problem solving.
  • Willingness and ability to coach and influence broadly across a matrixed, multicultural organization.
  • Executive-level presentation and messaging to articulate strategies, actions, needs, and business impacts.
  • Highly competent across Procurement and manufacturing competencies, systems, and practices.
  • Proficient with ERP systems, business intelligence applications, data mining, and analysis.
  • Advanced Planning and Supplier Collaboration platform experience is a bonus.
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification or equivalent experience preferred.
