senior manager, Enterprise Communications
From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee and the rich tradition, but that also brought a feeling of connection. We are known for developing extraordinary leaders who share this passion and are guided by their service to others.
Our Partner Communications team is responsible for informing, engaging and inspiring Starbucks partners (employees) in ways that support our mission, values, and impact globally, while providing end-to-end communications for our stores, Seattle support center, and regional offices. With more than 400,000 Starbucks partners around the world, we have high aspirations for the future and want to ensure our partners feel informed, engaged, and inspired for the journey ahead.
As a Senior Communications Manager, You Will
Drive strategic, multi-channel employee communications campaigns that elevate our most critical brand, benefits, sustainability, community, and policy initiatives at an enterprise level.
Work in a non-hierarchical manner across teams to gain a clear understanding of objectives, and effectively translate them to communication strategies.
Serve as a trusted thought partner. You’ll need to be comfortable expressing and recommending your perspective with peers and senior level leaders.
Serve as a content strategist. Our partners lead busy lives, and we are looking for someone who understands how they consume content and develops strategies to drive engagement.
Find and amplify our best stories. Storytelling runs in our DNA, and you must have a passion for developing narratives that are rooted in Our Mission and Values, while inspiring our partners with what they need to be successful in their day-to-day roles.
Understand our digital channels, audience metrics and insights, as well as events like company forums and town halls to deliver content and reinforce messages.
Anticipate and plan for potential issues to mitigate risk and build understanding.
What You’ll Need
A deep curiosity for the Starbucks partner experience. The ideal candidate understands the right voice and tone necessary for partners, by role and audience.
Ability to decode corporate speak and write brief, clear and persuasive “human” content that engages partners and reduces errors and confusion.
Desire to work inclusively. You will need to encourage diversity of thought and gather feedback judiciously and know when to adjust your approach and when to follow your initial vision.
Adaptability, so you can flex to meet changing priorities and lead in times of ambiguity. You will need to know when to escalate and provide the counsel needed to agree on a plan.
Ability to drive creative ideas. We are looking for people who quickly tire of the status quo and are idea generators who know what it takes to execute, quickly.
Natural disposition to work with urgency and limited guidance from your manager.
Attention to detail as you manage multiple projects and deadlines and bring your leader/team along.
A passion for servant leadership.
