**Position Overview**

The Senior Manager of Security Operations is responsible for leading and overseeing the Security Operations Team, ensuring the protection of the organization's information assets and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. This role is responsible for the planning and execution of security projects, monitoring security incidents, conducting penetration testing and promoting security initiatives and best practices across the organization.

The Senior Manager of Cyber Security Operations will oversee the deployment of security defense and identity management technologies, the management of existing infrastructure, and the response to cyber security incidents, as well as determining the risks to the organization by directing security testing.

**Responsibilities**

  • Oversee the development, maintenance, support, and optimization of key functional areas, including corporate systems, network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data communications, hardware maintenance and telecommunications systems. Key focus areas:
  • Oversee the design and implementation of short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements
  • Manage and mentor the Security Operations Team, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and career development
  • Develop and implement security strategies, policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with the organization's goals and objectives
  • Coordinate and conduct regular security assessments, audits, and penetration testing to identify and remediate vulnerabilities and risks
  • Manage and respond to security incidents, breaches, and investigations, and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Oversee the security operations center (SOC) and the security information and event management (SIEM) system and ensure timely and accurate reporting and escalation of security events and alerts
  • Lead and support security projects and initiatives, such as security awareness, information governance, encryption, identity and access management, and cloud security
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, such as senior management, IT, legal, compliance, and vendors
  • Stay abreast of the latest security trends, threats, and technologies, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement and innovation
  • Guide IT leadership on information security and its role in managing IT risk, in both strategic and tactical contexts
  • Lead the development and implementation of information security and data governance strategies, policies, and practices for the environment, central and distributed IT teams, legal, risk management, audit, and compliance functions, and governance
  • Oversees the departmental security budget. Implement the various elements of information security program, including access management, device security, incident response, policies, training, and outreach, risk management and compliance, security architecture, and vulnerability management, PCI compliance, HIPPA compliance, and support data governance, data stewardship, and technical architecture review programs
  • Review 3rd party contracts and services to ensure that appropriate security controls are in place to protect all parties
  • Develop, implement, and ensure all policies, procedures, and associated training plans are followed for infrastructure administration and project management
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all procurement and development efforts
  • Perform quality assurance on projects to ensure quality delivery and minimize disruptions

**Qualifications**

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field required
  • Ten years of progressive information technology experience required to include:
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) required
  • CompTIA Security+ required
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) preferred
  • GIAC Security Operations Manager Certification (GSOM) preferred
  • Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA) preferred
