The Opportunity

Your role at Sephora:

The Senior Manager of Business Performance & Omni Analytics plays a critical role in answering some of Sephora’s most difficult questions related to the performance of the business. They are a catalyst in identifying insights that explain the what happened and why, in regards to the business wholistically across North America. They will work in close partnership with key stakeholders across the organization identifying strategic opportunities, delivering actionable insights to the Retail, Dotcom, and Omni Convenience teams to drive performance across Sephora.

This role is highly cross-functional and involves working closely with partners across the business. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, has outstanding analytic skills and a strong business acumen. They are data-savvy and have an intellectual curiosity to drill deep to uncover business drivers and present insightful, actionable recommendations to the business. This candidate can successfully build collaborative partnerships across the organization, independently manage projects, and work effectively with other analytics team members and leadership.The role manages a team of analysts and reports to the Director of Channel Analytics & Intelligence.

In Addition, You Will

  • Lead a team as they execute analyses to support our business partners and their strategic decisions
  • Coach and develop junior employees both on technical skills and personal development
  • Transform business questions into fact-based analyses that deliver clear insights and actionable recommendations
  • Serve as a strategic thought leader as Sephora business and the Cosmetics Industry continues to evolve.
  • Leverage data analysis to influence Sephora strategies through actionable insights and clear stories.
  • Build analytics models to provide insight into the impact of key initiatives.
  • Complete post-initiative launch hindsight’s, identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Identify areas of opportunity to improve current analytics communications, reports, dashboards through automations, improved insights and visualizations.
  • Stay current on trends and best practices in retail & analytics

We’re Excited About You If You Have

  • 7+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or consulting role, with increasing responsibility
  • 2+ years of managing direct reports
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and creative problem-solving skills to strategically solve ambiguous business questions
  • Demonstrate professional experience generating actionable insights through data mining and analysis of large scale, complex data sets
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage ambiguity, balance multiple projects simultaneously, and prioritize workload across multiple cross-functional stakeholders and direct reports
  • A courageous and fearless approach to influence and drive change across the organization, including executive leadership, supported by the ability to translate complex analyses into a compelling narrative
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate findings to all levels of the organization
  • Fluency in core analytics toolkit, including:
    • Strong SQL programming skills
    • Data visualization tools such as Tableau
    • Web analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics
    • Advanced Excel and Powerpoint Skills
    • Experience with R/Python a plus
  • Experience in Retail and/or eCommerce a plus
The annual base salary range for this position is $159,000.00 - $178,000.00. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
