We are looking for a Senior Manager of Accounting (Revenue) who is responsible for managing a set of accounting activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies, and internal controls to join our Finance Team. The Senior Manager of Accounting (Revenue) will lead general accounting functions and the order-to-cash accounting cycle, including revenue recognition and reporting, and assist the US Controller in managing the accurate and timely monthly close and reporting procedures of multiple subsidiaries. The role reports to the US Controller and will direct a team of accounting staff.

Responsibilities

  • Manage general accounting activities for multiple subsidiaries, including assets, accruals, payroll and related benefits, inter-company transactions, income statement coding, variance analyses and KPI reporting, in accordance with accounting requirement of the Group.
  • Prepare, review or approve journal entries.
  • Manage or perform account reconciliations and detailed analyses of internal and external financial information.
  • Perform review over transactional processes of accounts payable and accounts receivable teams.
  • Oversee the accounting and reporting processes of revenue and cost of goods and related order-to-cash cycle balance sheet accounting.
  • Ensure all revenue is recorded according to Group accounting revenue recognition policies.
  • Maintain, mature and scale globalized processes and related contributing system(s) information for efficient and effective revenue recognition, deferred accounting and cost of goods reporting while delivering accurate and timely financial data in compliance with all applicable company policies and procedures.
  • Lead any technical accounting research for new product offerings and accounting standards implementation.
  • Manage the multi-subsidiary monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, journal entries are reviewed, and account balance reconciliations and reports are completed ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Participate in the maturation and ongoing management of accounting policies and internal control procedures and operational strategies, including the review and implementation of process and system changes and related documentation.
  • Provide technical accounting support ensuring that company financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies and accounting principles.
  • Assists in the research of relevant authoritative guidance and technical accounting issues. Oversee or perform accounting research to conclude on the correct accounting treatment for new situations or transactions
  • Responsible for maintaining supporting workpapers and managing internal requirements for audits with external auditors.
  • Assist with banking requests and preparation of cash forecasting.
  • Lead accounting staff to achieve set accounting department goals, including but not limited to, providing mentoring, training, ongoing feedback and conducting annual performance evaluations.
  • Prepare special project analyses and assist in additional assignments to address special requests as directed by Controller(s) or Vice President(s).
  • Support Finance IT in implementing and testing system improvements/upgrades in accordance with established processes, as well as integrating new software and tools and/or entities into the financial reporting systems.

Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Current CPA strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ progressive experience in corporate accounting department with 5+ years of management experience. Large public accounting firm experience preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of corporate financial systems, general accounting, internal controls and financial reporting. confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, maintain deadlines, and demonstrate urgency when handling time-sensitive information.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive materials.
  • Effective time and people management skills to develop and direct realistic action plans for the supervised teams, while creating an environment encouraging collaboration and ensuring internal and external stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Excellent follow-up and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently with little direction.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail with excellent accuracy, completeness and consistency, with excellent organization and ability to thoroughly document and organized workpapers.
  • Experienced utilizing accounting data within an ERP system, extracting and formatting ERP data exports and managing organized paperless records; NetSuite ERP knowledge is a plus.
  • Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to work with large datasets, recognize data patterns and anomalies, and perform advanced functions.
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral) to present information, provide status updates and respond to inquiries from various managers, internal and external customers of the organization.

  • Industry experience in pharmaceutical/life sciences/ and/or software project-management-based technology.
  • Experience in ERP system migrations, database acquisitions, implementation and automation projects.
