Senior Loan Processor

Job Description

• Collecting Documentation: Gather all necessary documents from the loan applicant, such as pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, and credit reports. Able to prepare the LE and CD.
• Verifying Information: Verify the accuracy and completeness of the information provided by the applicant. This includes confirming employment, checking credit scores, and ensuring all documents are current and valid.
• Preparing Loan Files: Organize and prepare the loan file for underwriting, ensuring it meets all the lender's requirements and guidelines.
• Communicating with all parties: Act as a liaison between the applicant, loan officer, underwriter, and any other parties involved in the loan process. This includes updating the applicant on the status of their loan application and requesting additional information if needed.
• Reviewing and Analyzing Documents: Scrutinize all collected documents to ensure they comply with lender and regulatory standards. Look for any discrepancies or red flags that could affect the loan approval.
• Ensuring Compliance: Make sure all loan files comply with federal and state regulations, as well as the lender's internal policies.
• Facilitating the Underwriting Process: Assist the underwriter by providing a well-organized and thoroughly vetted loan file, addressing any issues that arise during the underwriting process.
• Closing Preparation: Once the loan is approved, prepare the loan file for closing, ensuring all necessary documents are signed and in order.
  
  

The loan processor's role is critical in streamlining the loan approval process, reducing the likelihood of errors, and ensuring a smooth transition from application to closing.
