Manage and process entitlement applications for development projects.
Lead community engagement activities.
Make presentations at public hearings and community meetings.
Lead and participate in calls and meetings with clients, public agencies, and project teams.
Log and track information on multiple projects simultaneously using organized systems.
Manage teams of architects, engineers, and other design professionals.
Foster the professional growth of junior planning professionals.
Conduct research on planning, zoning, permits, and environmental clearances.
Work with private project applicants to support real estate goals and profitable investment.
Business development activities including proposal preparation and contract management.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Ability to lead and manage projects and people.
Recent experience preparing Specific Plans.
Proficiency in MS Word with ability to write and format clear and concise planning documents.
Minimum of eight (8) years' experience working for a consulting firm.
Strong understanding of relationships between Specific Plans and land use entitlements to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) compliance process.
Experience and comfort making public presentations and leading community engagement activities.
Effective results-driven project management skills, with ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Desire to excel in a professionally-challenging, fast-paced environment.
Effective prioritization and organizational skills.
Commitment to working from Irvine, CA or San Diego, CA
Bachelor’s or Master's Degree; preferably in urban planning, land use design, public administration, or project management.
