Reporting to the PMO IT Director. The Senior Project Manager will lead strategic technology and operational projects. This position will also support strategic technology and the vision and leadership for designing, developing, and implementing business systems initiatives that create customer and/or business value. This position is responsible for helping to establish the concept, design, and development of our internal technology systems and integrations. This person will play a crucial role in our Project Management Office.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple technology projects and work with respective project teams.
  • Develops, updates, and manages overall project plans.
  • Work with end users and technology teams to define and document requirements.
  • Tracks project deliverables using appropriate tools.
  • Monitors, tracks, and reports to stakeholder’s progress of the overall project.
  • Develops and documents technical and business requirements.
  • Lead tasks relating to the implementation of, operation, support, and maintenance of our business technology infrastructure and programs.
  • Proactively identifies and mitigates project risks with downstream impacts to resolution
  • Incorporates project lessons learned register into future project plan templates
  • Facilitates regular status meetings with stakeholders and reports to leadership
  • Create and manage strategic technical development tracking tools. Including Project Online and Power BI.
  • Define and maintain standardized department project management tools, resources for business systems implementations.
  • Participates in vendor evaluation process, planning, testing, training, and implementation of new systems, and integrations.
  • Analyzes the needs and requirements of users and develops documentation as needed.
  • Understand and document business workflows in the organization and work with line management to make improvements. Perform user acceptance testing to verify that a project meets defined requirements.
  • Manage projects applying PMI knowledge areas related to Integration, Scope, Schedule, Quality, Resource, Communication, Risk, Procurement, and Stakeholders. Utilizing applicable project processes and methodologies and (Agile, Waterfall etc.).
  • Development and support of PMO framework and maturity.
  • Stakeholder communication and reporting.
  • Support of MS Project Online and MS Project, including end-user support.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in project management, healthcare technology management, business management or related field is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in technology, business, healthcare or related field is required.
  • Previous healthcare or healthcare technology experience preferred.
  • Previous experience managing application and system implementation projects of moderate or high complexity.
  • Active Project Management Institute qualifying certification or related project management training is preferred.
  • A passion for project management and process improvement.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience with change management.
  • Creative, innovative mindset and ability to think outside the box.
  • Collaborative approach and excellent communication skills with a proven track record of working effectively with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience capturing and maintaining visual technical application design and process diagrams, preferably in MS Visio.
  • Experience working with MS Project, customer relationship management, ERP and/or IT ticketing system and Analytical Dashboard tools is preferred.
  • Ability to implement new systems, workflows, and technology roadmaps.
  • Experience with Agile methodology is a plus.
