About Our Team

The Public Safety Special Investigative Unit (SIU) is comprised of former law enforcement experts, sworn and civilian, who leverage the full suite of LexisNexis solutions and data offerings to provide real-time investigative insight for LexisNexis customers. The Public Safety Special Investigative Unit (SIU), also serves to work with the sales team by analyzing data and monitoring production, building best practices, procedures and supporting functions required to maintain the quality and timely delivery of information. The SIU team aids law enforcement during critical incidents and major investigations and is available to provide support remotely or onsite, when applicable.

About The Role

This position exists to provide investigative support to a dedicated federal government customer. The Senior Investigative analyst will enable federal government customers with the information that will assist in evaluating threats, critical incidents, and criminal research. This analyst will bridge the gap between customer requirements and production outcome as a subject matter expert on LexisNexis Risk solutions within the Special Investigations Unit (SIU). This is a hybrid position, that will be majority homebased but will require periodic office-based time in Washington, DC.

You Will Be Responsible For

  • Supporting the customer mission by providing analytical and investigative awareness. This role will enable federal government customers with the information that will assist in evaluate threats, critical incidents, and criminal research.
  • Providing on-site analytic support in a multi-disciplinary team environment to deliver analytic briefs and work products.
  • Processing, integrating, syncing, and analyzing data from multiple data sources to look for and identify trends.
  • Operating professionally and efficiently, often without direct supervision, while conducting high-quality analysis and support across diverse analytic and law enforcement officials.
  • Using industry-standard analytic software tools at an Expert level.
  • Applying critical reasoning and the scientific process to identify behavioral, spatial, and temporal patterns of human decisions in diverse datasets to predict specific predatory activity.
  • Performing all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Have 4+ years experience in Law Enforcement.
  • Have Bachelor's or Higher.
  • Have expert organizational and time management skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Have demonstrated competence in logical application to research and problem solving.
  • Have ability to use Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, ESRI ArcGIS, i2 Analysts Notebook, and proprietary LexisNexis tools at an expert level.
  • Have solid interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Have ability to travel up to 30%, and flexibility to work various shifts.

Physical and/or logical access to criminal justice information is an essential function of this role. The successful candidate will be required to pass both the standard company background check for all employees and an enhanced criminal background check conducted by the Company's state and local law enforcement partners conducted in compliance with the FBI's Criminal Justice Information System (“CJIS”) security policy. Employees in this role may also be subject to ongoing criminal background checks as required by the Company's state and local law enforcement partners. Candidates and/or employees who are not certified by state and local law enforcement to access criminal justice information will not be able to perform the essential functions of this role. Employees who subsequently fail to obtain or maintain CJIS compliance may be reassigned or terminated.
