As the Senior Interior Designer, you will develop and inspire the design and demographic lifestyle direction while adhering to the budgetary guidelines and specified timeframes.
The Senior Interior Designer...
Reviews builder plans and builder options
Determines and confirms assigned design direction and color scheme
Creates the design direction and develops the Design Intro Packet, Inspirational Design Direction, Lifestyle and Initial Space Plan
Establishes design direction and key design elements per room, along with the style of interior furnishings and color palette, architectural elements, and special treatments
Establishes lifestyle where applicable & drafts initial space plan based on design direction
Mentors and Inspires team in the area of design, merchandising goals, brand standards
Sets the example as a role model for the values ascribed to in the company's mission statement
Mentors team member on the appropriate use of stock
Visits and walks company’s local models and its competition, when necessary
Sets the example for direct reports regarding learning and following corporate and departmental policies and procedures
Meets the goal of two initiatives to improve in design and self-growth
Travels to the job sites when needed
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design from an accredited university
5+ years of experience in multifamily interior design
MUST have a multifamily interior design portfolio
NCIDQ preferred
Proficiency in AutoCAD required
Experience with understanding of architectural details and constructability
Strong knowledge of multifamily property and model home construction methods and materials
Experience with budget management – understands how to allocate budget and appropriate use of vendors
Ability to read builder plans and comprehend
Ability to communicate designs verbally and written plus in presentations
Strong client relations and relationship-building skills
Ability to travel to job sites
