Senior Integration & Optimization Engineer (Influencer) - Location Flexible

We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic Senior Software Engineer who specializes in database query optimization and integration engineering. If you have a knack for query optimization and a solid background with observability tools, such as Datadog, this is the opportunity for you. You will work within a team to build, enhance, and maintain our web and mobile industry-leading platform that impacts athletes across the world.

Influencer is a product within the Teamworks portfolio that serves more than 4,000 college teams and 100,000 student-athletes. These teams and athletes use the Influencer app to access and share content to their personal social media channels, review their brand metrics, and process endorsement transactions with our monetization partners.

We produce best-in-class software for best-in-class athletic organizations, and we’re looking for a team player who sets the same standards for themselves.

Responsibilities

  • Identify bottlenecks in process and performance to improve efficiency.
  • Perform query level analysis and optimization.
  • Deliver quality, well-tested code to our API, web, and worker applications.
  • Participate in design and architecture discussions in a Kanban-style environment.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and maintain coding standards.
  • Contribute to the strength of the engineering team through mentorship and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with database integration and schema/query optimization.
  • Experience with 3rd party integrations.
  • Proficiency in Datadog or equivalent observability suite.
  • Proficiency in a programming language such as PHP, Python, Java, or Ruby.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with ORM.
  • Extensive experience with building and maintaining APIs.
  • Experience with unit and integration testing frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Laravel/Eloquent or equivalent frameworks.
  • AWS service integration.
  • Familiarity with Docker.
  • Kubernetes fundamentals.
  • CI/CD practices.
