We need a passionate Sr. Instructional Designer to identify, design and deliver high-impact sales training solutions. About the Sr. Instructional Designer

As our Instructional Designer, you are inquisitive, a problem solver, creative thinker, collaborator and tireless in your pursuit of providing engaging learning activities in support business goals. You also have experience working on multiple projects with several stakeholders at the same time to revise and/or create innovative learning experiences such as instructor-led training, e-learning modules, role plays, case studies, etc. from the ground up.


This position will report to the Director of Learning and Development.


This position will partner with Sales Leaders and other internal stakeholders, diagnose performance issues and learning needs, identify appropriate training-based solutions, and develop learning frameworks and curricula to facilitate achievement of the business unit’s goals. You will have the opportunity to be part of a newly developing sales onboarding program, which is designed to provide ongoing developmental training opportunities for various roles, but especially for sales and sales leadership roles. This role will be responsible for implementing thestrategic vision that ensures innovative, high-quality training opportunities are delivered with precision.



No two days will be the same for our Sr. Instructional Designer and these will be your primary responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops, and delivers learning solutions, leveraging tested instructional design theories, practices, and methods to create learning activities that are engaging, activity-based, and results-oriented.
  • Works with key sales stakeholders to define scope of learning experiences, clarify learning objectives, identify subject-matter experts, timeline, and projected outcomes.
  • Experience with principles of Knowledge Management and content assessments in support of Change Management
  • Proven skill with formal mass communications outlining key updates in support of change management
  • Knowledge of Configure Price Quote (CPQ) or other price quoting tools
  • Experience in developing training materials for entire end-to-end sales processes; including new hire onboarding program, systems training (Salesforce), sales value proposition, deals and management processes for various sales roles and divisions.
  • Creates solutions that satisfy the needs of a diverse set of learners (e.g. instructor-led, webinars, videos, online courses, quick reference guides, job aids, performance support walkthroughs, etc.)
  • Drive high performing sales culture through learning solutions.
  • Implement tools to track the results of learning experiences (i.e. assessments, quizzes, rubrics, evaluation strategies). Makes recommendations based on these measurements to improve quality of training programs.
  • Drives effective project management in all projects through the identification of scope, key stakeholders, RACI models, timelines, and issues/resolution logs.
  • Support additional Learning and Development team projects, programs, initiatives, and development, as required.


About you:

As an Sr. Instructional Designer, you are grounded in the learner experience and passionately advocate for their needs based on your sound understanding and application of adult learning theory.   • One to three years’ experience working in Benefits Administration, Benefits Ecosystem and/or SAAS technology.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in instructional design
  • 5-7 years’ experience in instructional design with facilitation experience
  • You don’t just know the principles of adult learning theory, you know how, when and why to apply the appropriate tactics and have examples to prove it
  • Technology plays a big part in your training approach therefore you are more than familiar with e-learning authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate, Premier Pro, Vyond, Articulate 360 Suite, etc. You also bring to the table a solid understanding of additional digital learning tools and strategies.
  • You are part detective as you are skilled at conducting training needs analyses, creating learning objectives and content to solve forperformance gaps and align to business goals.

  • You possess a strong sense of urgency in driving projects to completion.
  • You are not a silo; hence you enjoy working with people and across functional teams.
  • Possess outstanding communication and relationship skills and fearless in your ability to facilitate conversations with leaders and SMEs in support of building right fit learning solutions.
  • Command of project management tactics, inclusive of but not limited to prioritization, negotiation, multi-tasking, etc.

The following desired qualifications will greatly enhance the success of this position

  • Previous experience Salesforce and building simulations in a sandbox environment.
  • Previous experience and or knowledge of GTM selling principles and the ability to understand the challenges that the sales team encounters is a plus.
