Position Overview
Education
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Instructional Designer to join our Digital Learning team. Our mission is to broaden access to education by creating equitable online learning environments. As part of our team, you will:
Collaborate with faculty and team members to design and develop online courses and programs
Create research-based resources to support online
Assist in assessing online courses
Promote inclusive online course design
Support digital innovations across the campus
Responsibilities
Collaborate with faculty and the Digital Learning team to design and develop online courses and programs, including academic degrees, bridging courses, career advancement, and enrichment programs.
Assess online courses to ensure they meet quality and inclusivity standards.
Promote best practices in inclusive online course design.
Support the integration of emerging technologies and creative multimedia to enhance student engagement.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience/training (e.g., instructional design, educational technology, multimedia).
Minimum of three years of experience in online course design, educational media creation, and the use of learning technologies.
Thorough knowledge of instructional design principles, including needs analysis, backwards design, learning outcomes, and assessment design.
Familiarity with universal design for learning and digital inclusion principles.
Proficiency in using technical tools and platforms to create engaging and media-rich online learning content.
Experience with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas).
Excellent analytical, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
A commitment to equity and to supporting the success of historically underrepresented groups in higher education.
Working Conditions
This position is fully remote and candidates must reside in the United States.
Working evenings and weekends may be required.
A background check is required for this position.
Compensation
Annual Full Pay Range: $67,200 - $119,600 (prorated if the appointment is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $32.18 - $57.28
The final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
