Senior HR Generalist

Our client, a growing international packaging and containers manufacturer, is seeking a driven and experienced Senior HR Generalist to join their growing corporate team! As the Senior HR Generalist, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing HR strategies at both the corporate and plant level. This position will be the direct HR support to their Senior Director of HR and will help elevate the human resources functions across their multiple subsidiaries.

This is a hybrid position, as you will be required to be on site at their plants in Carol Stream and Elgin as needed (likely once or twice a week). The ideal Senior HR Generalist will have a strong background in HR in a corporate or hourly-heavy environment, have experience overseeing employee relations and the employee life cycle and have experience helping to revamp HR structures and foundations.

Senior HR Generalist Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives, alongside their Senior Director of HR
• Collaborate with senior management to identify HR needs and provide strategic guidance
• Assist with orientations, training and be the subject matter expert for employee relations investigations
• Promote employee engagement initiatives, including recognition programs, surveys and feedback channels
• Provide guidance and support to supervisors and employees on HR-related matters
• Implement performance management processes, including goal setting, performance evaluations and career development plans
• Identify training and development needs, coordinate training programs and facilitate employee skill enhancement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with training requirements and regulations
• Maintain a thorough understanding of employment laws, regulations and best practices

Senior HR Generalist Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or a related field required
• 5+ years of HR Generalist experience in a corporate or hourly-heavy, blue-collar environment (manufacturing, distribution, logistics, etc.)
• Must have experience leading projects and initiatives relating to change management, employee relations, training, employee engagement and more
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Exceptional problem-solving, conflict resolution and decision-making abilities
