Position Overview

Are you ready to take your graphic design skills to the next level and make a real difference? At SOLID, we’re looking for a passionate Senior Graphic Designer to join our dynamic and agile team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for creating visually engaging designs that adhere to SOLID’s brand standards. You will develop digital and print designs for various projects, including marketing materials, websites, and internal documents.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a small but impactful team, creating solutions that significantly enhance the lives of U.S. Military service members and veterans.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers, team analysts, engineers, and stakeholders.
  • Design and develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how a site should look, feel, and function.
  • Create and maintain digital assets such as interface design files, wireframes, and interactive mockups.
  • Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows, and site maps.
  • Design graphic user interface elements like menus, icons, components, and widgets.
  • Create original graphic designs such as images, sketches, and tables.
  • Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders.
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems such as responsiveness and engagement.
  • Conduct research and deconstruct our users’ digital interactions and habits.
  • Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback.
  • Create and adhere to style guide standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Computer Science, or a related field. Related experience and credentials may be considered in lieu of preferred education.
  • At least four (4+) years of experience with graphic design work in identity (logos and branding), publications (magazines, newspapers, and books), print advertisements, website graphics, signs, or product packaging.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and creativity in design layouts and rendering.
  • Critical, observational, quantitative, and analytical thinking skills.
  • Familiarity with a range of graphic design software.
  • Ability to discuss and explain design direction.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, and Dreamweaver.
  • Experience with HTML5 & CSS3.
  • Knowledge of Figma for design and prototyping.
  • Knowledge of usability factors in human-computer interaction.
  • Ability to work independently and self-manage deadlines of assigned tasks and projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Salary will be commensurate with experience and education.
