Senior Graphic Designer

The Opportunity

Everyday Health Pregnancy & Parenting is looking for a Senior Graphic Designer to play a key role in creating visually compelling designs across various channels for both the BabyCenter and What to Expect brands. This position requires a highly creative individual with excellent attention to detail, strong project management skills, and the ability to lead design projects from concept to completion. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in graphic design and a strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of work.

This position reports to the Senior Art Director and collaborates with internal teams to provide creative support on projects across editorial, social, branded content, video, marketing, and product/UX.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the creative team to brainstorm and develop innovative design concepts that align with the company's brand identity and business objectives.
  • Maintain and ensure consistent application of brand guidelines across all design projects and materials.
  • Lead and manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications and deadlines.
  • Work independently and cooperatively with other designers and teams in a fully remote environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams such as editorial, marketing, social, photo, video and product to understand project requirements and deliver effective design solutions.
  • Incorporate feedback from stakeholders and make necessary revisions to designs to achieve project goals and client expectations.
  • Stay updated with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies to ensure the company's designs are current, competitive, and align with best practices.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional graphic design experience, with a strong portfolio that demonstrates proficiency in a variety of design formats including email, social, paid ads, campaigns and illustration.
  • Demonstrate proficient expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant design software. Bonus: Adobe After Effects, Ceros, Canva, and Figma.
  • Thorough understanding of design best practices needed for various channels such as email, social media, video, web, and mobile app.
  • Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail and aesthetics.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, proficient at working across multiple projects with competing schedules, and effectively prioritizing deliverables to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate the ability to present work with clarity and confidence, articulating creative decisions clearly in both verbal and written formats.
  • Drive constructive conversations and provide feedback with a positive approach.
  • Capable of thriving in a remote work environment.
  • Proficient in project management software such as Asana or Jira

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Ceros, Canva, and Figma
  • Background in motion graphics and video editing
  • Illustration skills are a huge bonus

Compensation for this business unit specific role is based on a variety of factors including experience, scope of the role, capabilities to perform the role, as well as business & company performance.
