About The Role

Skydio is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager to join the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team. The right individual will be a key contributor in driving data-driven insights and providing financial guidance to the key stakeholders within the business. The position is primarily focused on General & Administrative (G&A) functions, but will also have the opportunity to support other core functions (GTM, R&D, and HW Ops) as needed.

The FP&A Manager will be primarily responsible for coordinating with cross functional teams to develop and track headcount, manage the commission and MBO processes, track budgets, and opex forecasting. This position will also be responsible for driving KPI reporting to provide actionable insights for our G&A business.

Location: This is an office-based position that requires 3 days/week onsite at our HQ in San Mateo, CA. We offer relocation assistance if needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and analyze data, financial, and business metrics used by the Company and senior management to drive business performance and track growth initiatives.
  • Partner with cross functional stakeholders to drive strategic planning and decision-making, including opex planning.
  • Partner with HR and department heads to develop and manage the headcount planning process, including insights to support hiring decisions and impacts to EBITDA and cash.
  • Own the commission and MBO processes end to end, including the accrual and payment calculations, collaborating with leadership on incentive structure, analysis of attainment metrics and payout accuracy, and communication with the sales team.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses that drive strategic business decisions.
  • Support the annual budgeting and quarterly outlook processes in order to ensure all departments and operations are executing to the financial plan.
  • Investigate variances between actuals and forecasts to understand trends and potential risks and opportunities for Skydio.
  • Coordinate with various information holders to collect, organize, and analyze Company data and to summarize key takeaways for senior management.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of new financial processes.


Desired Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, including excellent analytical skills and a strong proficiency in financial modeling; experience in investment banking and FP&A a plus.
  • High level of proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Netsuite, Adaptive experience required.
  • Solid understanding of corporate finance and basic accounting required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Proactive self-starter with the ability to multitask and prioritize appropriately to meet tight deadlines.
  • High attention to detail is a must.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Comfortable working with and articulating financial concepts to department managers and senior executives.
  • High standard for integrity required for exposure to confidential Company performance, legal contracts and employee information.
  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting or Economics related field required.


Compensation Range: The annual base salary range for this position is $130,000 - $150,000*. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. In addition to base salary, Skydio full-time employees are eligible to enroll in our benefit plans and take advantage of a variety of incentives and stipends.
