Upwork is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst, Revenue to help make sound financial decisions. Work will include functional business partnering, financial forecasting, modeling business scenarios, tracking performance measurements, and other financial directives.

We are looking for someone who is a highly motivated teammate, has excellent attention to detail, can work cross functionally in a team environment, as well as independently. This person will work with various department business partners to understand historical and future revenue and cost of revenue streams, contributing to the company’s P&L forecasting and reporting processes.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead portions of the weekly/monthly/quarterly forecasting and variance reporting around the company’s topline metrics - analyzing financial results, distilling/synthesizing key trends, and assessing current and future business risks
  • Work with various cross-functional teams (Product, Payments, Accounting, Analytics) to assist forecasting topline metrics (GSV, Take Rate and Revenue)
  • Analyze financial data to build models for decision support and making recommendations
  • Proactively collaborates with peers to solve business challenges, needing little to no instruction for day-today work
  • Identify and drive operational improvements which may include challenging assumptions in a productive manner and trying new ways of working to achieve results


What it takes to catch our eye:

  • 2-4 years of experience in a finance-related role with FP&A, investment banking, or consulting experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills combined with collaborative mindset to arrive at the best business decision
  • Modeling, reporting, and presentation skills (Adaptive Insights, Excel, Looker, and G-suite experience a plus)
  • Critical thinker with sound business judgment and a continuous improvement attitude who quickly raises issues and facilitates an environment to solve them

The annual base salary range for this position in California and Washington is displayed below. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salary for this position in California and Washington, and individual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, this position is eligible for the annual bonus plan or sales incentive plan and eligibility to participate in our long term equity incentive program.

Annual Base Compensation

$116,750—$134,000 USD
