Job Description

The purpose of this role is to partner with the IT team to manage operating costs and capital expenditures, and other Avery Dennison stakeholders to drive system and process transformation programs working closely and collaboratively with IT leadership and non-IT stakeholders to build a framework and governance model to deliver the required program outcomes, and track financial performance from project inception, investment appraisal/approval, through to program delivery and post investment benefits.

A key requirement of this position is the ability to leverage experience and build relationships within the Avery Dennison organization including senior leadership/key project stakeholders and develop a strong understanding of current systems/available data to establish financial models and tracking processes which will support the organization drive and deliver the change required by the program.

Superior financial planning, analysis, and organizational skills coupled with an attention to detail are a must. Rich experience managing/interpreting/enhancing data from multiple systems to support decision making. Experience working with external vendor teams on large implementations, and project management skills will be beneficial.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Partner with the IT organization and non-IT stakeholders to establish a robust framework and governance model to enable the team to formulate and manage capital and operating expenditure against plan and forecast for IT initiatives.
  • Partner with the PMO for system and digital transformation programs and establish financial processes and modelling which support tracking the project financials from inception of alternatives, scenario modelling, investment appraisal & approval, through to program delivery and post investment benefits.
  • Responsible for establishing a framework including financial modeling, investment appraisals, establishing KPIs and performance reviews to support the IT organization and other Avery Dennison stakeholders define strategies, identify and manage costs/savings/benefits associated with IT delivery and Digital Transformation programs.
  • Provide timely status updates and delivery of metrics to leadership, in partnership with the PMO and other transformation partners, drive the operational level financial and project reporting through the governance model.
  • Interface with Avery Dennison business units and stakeholders for all regions to allocate the project expenditures to sites where applicable and align on allocation methodologies with Finance Controllership and Tax teams.
  • Provide key financial updates and metrics to the IT leadership team, strategic program level leaders and project steering committees.
  • Support continuous improvement, and benchmarking of processes to identify and collaborate with IT partners to build IT solutions to automate, simplify and standardize processes.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor degree with relevant experience in Finance/Project Management.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Experience:

  • Strong evidence of establishing and driving FP&A activities within an international landscape. You will be a strategic thinker with proven experience implementing frameworks/governance to drive daily concepts which deliver longer term vision.
  • An excellent understanding of ERP, Business Intelligence and automation tools at the strategy and implementation levels.
  • A change agent, well respected within the organization able to demonstrate building of key relationships across global teams
  • Ability to drive and demonstrate partnership, transparency, control and collaboration are key requirements of this role
  • Exceptional data management and analytical skills, including the ability to identify potential issues and propose corrective actions
  • Capable of working on multiple deliverables, in a dynamic environment where priorities can change rapidly.
  • Experience of working with IT Consultancies and IT project management teams.
  • Ability to articulate detailed scenario modeling, investment appraisals, cost-benefit analysis across a wide variety of complex projects.
