The Opportunity

RentSpree is the leading provider of rental software in the U.S. that helps connect renters, real estate agents, and landlords to simplify the entire rental process, from listing to lease. RentSpree is at the forefront of the rental wave and we need your help to build something great.

We are currently seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to bootstrap and lead the first engineering team in the US region for RentSpree. Reporting directly to the CTO, the ideal candidate will be comfortable building a net new team from scratch, hiring great engineering talent, and partnering with the product organization to build a robust roadmap.

This role is hybrid on-site in Seattle, WA. However, RentSpree has a significant engineering presence in Thailand, and the candidate will be expected to work closely with their peers in both regions.

Key Responsibilities

• Hire and grow a team of talented engineers, leading 4-8 direct reports in a fast-moving product delivery team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and marketing, to define and execute the product roadmap.
• Drive the adoption of best practices in software engineering, including agile methodologies, code reviews, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
• Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning within the team.
• Oversee the maintenance and optimization of existing systems, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
• Contribute to the strategic planning of the engineering department, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to inform decision-making and technology adoption.
• This role is hybrid on-site in Seattle, WA.
  
  

Skills & Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in software development across both startups and large tech companies.
• Strong technical skills in modern programming languages and frameworks
• Demonstrated experience in leading and influencing teams, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Deep understanding of cloud technologies and architectures.
• Experience in building scalable, high-availability systems, with a focus on simplicity and security.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• This is a hybrid in-office position in Seattle; you may also be expected to travel occasionally to one or both offices in LA and Bangkok.
