Job Title: Senior Director, Workforce

Location: Dallas

Reports to: Associate Vice Provost, Career Connected Learning

Pay: $115K - $120K


We are seeking an experienced, highly collaborative leader who is excited to take on a new and innovative role. The Senior Director, Workforce reports to the Associate Vice Provost, Career Connected Learning. This position serves in a highly collaborative and interdependent role with internal/external community and business/industry stakeholders. Position manages all career-connected learning strategies for the Client by ensuring alignment and integration with other divisions and internal and external partners.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Leveraging insights from the LMIC and employer relationships, ensure the Client is designing and offering career-connected learning strategies that align with current and future workforce needs.
  • Supports employer engagement efforts, ensuring integration of appropriate departments and functions of the Client.
  • Working with the Employer Resource Center, coordinate all internship and apprenticeship strategies for each School, ensuring integration with programs, communication between all stakeholders, and tracking of outcomes.
  • Coordinate career-connected learning strategies within the Schools, working with faculty and Academic Services to ensure clear connections between curriculum and career possibilities.
  • Working with Academic Services, design and implement non-credit to credit articulation of courses aligned within pathways and Schools.
  • Ensure career connected learning opportunities are comprehensive, consistently evaluated, and remain aligned to high need jobs in Dallas County.
  • In partnership with the Schools, ensure courses, programs, certificates, and degrees incorporate industry- and employer-recognized credentials whenever possible.
  • Completes required Professional Development training hours per academic year.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree. Official transcripts are required.
  • Three (3) years of progressive responsibility in administrative and/or educational leadership roles.
  • Three (3) years of experience working with external organizations to advance career-connected learning strategies, including workforce-related programs or three (3) years of experience developing and managing career and continuing education programs.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the purpose of community colleges and the vision of the Client.
  • Experience managing change initiatives including knowledge and skill in process improvement, project planning, conflict resolution, team building, customer service, and data-based decision-making concepts.
  • Ability to identify and address opportunities and challenges that arise as a result of the Client's current transition.
  • Experience working with workforce development programs.
  • Experience with local, state, and federal workforce programs, including WIOA.
  • Knowledge of continuing education processes and procedures.
  • Ability to analyze multi-layered problems and propose solutions.
  • Knowledge of best practices/trends in adult student success initiatives in higher education.
  • Knowledge of compliance with pertinent state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of current research and policy recommendations as well as state and national initiatives designed to enhance student career-connected learning.
  • Experience in strategic planning, assessment of program(s) effectiveness, and development of guidelines to improve the educational and career outcomes for students.
  • Experience deploying data-informed and results-oriented programs and supports.
  • Employ data-informed decision-making and use predictive analytics.
  • Experience managing administrative units and delivery structures that support the integration of career-connected curriculum and experiences into credit and non-credit programs.
  • Experience working with underserved and marginalized communities.
