J.McLaughlin is looking for a Senior Director of Social Media and Partnerships to manage organic social, PR, and collaborations/partnerships for the brand. This position reports to the Chief Marketing Officer, works closely across all areas of marketing and collaborates with merchandising, ecommerce, product, and retail teams. This role will use a test and learn approach to drive brand awareness and new customer acquisition.

This position will manage strategy and oversee execution and optimization of our organic social channel and PR agency and spearhead building new and existing relationships with influencers, finding collaboration opportunities with other brands, and push the team to think outside the box in finding new areas of growth. The ideal candidate will stay true to the brand and knows how to measure results and articulate clearly to the executive team. They are passionate about relationship building, brand storytelling, and have an entrepreneurial spirit. They are tapped into fashion and culture with a strong vision on what delivers fresh influencer content and social growth. They act as a brand ambassador and attend industry or appropriate store and corporate events in key markets delivering fresh social content ideas and innovative thinking. 

About The Role

Essential Functions:

  • Develop organic social strategies and manage team’s execution to increase engagement, followers, and brand awareness .
  • Manage a n influencer strategy to support growth, expand relationships, find new audiences, test new tactics, and continue scaling engagement through this channel .
  • Responsible for managing PR agency and overall strategy including story pitches, gifting, events and activations, and PR-introduced collaborations.
  • Build organic collaborations or brand partnerships via network to increase brand awareness, generate customer capture opportunities, and drive incremental sales.
  • Approve PR, organic social, and collaborations calendar alongside CMO.
  • Mentor and manage junior reports allowing them to grow within the organization.
  • Collaborate closely with the creative team on content building and communicating results for continued improvement.
  • Track and measure the reach and impact of social media channels, PR, and collaborations by establishing metrics and goals, benchmarking against competitors, and presenting insights on weekly and monthly basis.
  • Stay informed on the constantly changing landscape of PR & social media, spotting industry trends, best practices, emerging technologies, and risks.
  • Manage budget for area of the business with an eye for finding reinvestment opportunities in tests and growing successful tactics.
  • Data driven and results oriented with the ability to justify spend and success metrics to executive team.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with passion for high end retail and customers.

What we are looking for

Skills & Requirements

  • B.A. in Communications , Marketing, or relevant field
  • 10 + years of Social Media and PR experience
  • Existing influencer network across various fashion and cultural segments
  • Strong understanding with all social platforms and their content requirements
  • Superior budget management skills – ability to find reinvestment opportunities quickly
  • Comprehensive understanding of influencer data, benchmarks, and success metrics and strong analytical skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to carry out detailed tasks and projects with minimal direction or supervision
  • Background in luxury retail and consumer brands
  • Ability to develop, plan and execute work on multiple tasks in an organized fashion
  • A self-starter who takes initiative and offers creative ideas and opinions
  • Flexible and can handle shifts in priorities
  • Ability to creatively problem solve independently and in a group
  • Collaborative team player and enthusiastic approach to all tasks
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills & the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization from external vendors to executive team
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate their team members individually and as a group.

  • Strong working knowledge of Google analytics, Google ads, Microsoft office, Google drive digital media, Teams
