A Bit About Us

We are a food and beverage manufacturer based in Herndon, VA looking for a Senior Director of IT to join our team. In this role you'll be responsible for overseeing a team of 12, and ensure that our IT infrastructure operates smoothly and efficiently. One of your major projects will be assisting with the completion of our organization-wide SAP implementation, as well as evaluating new software and systems that can improve our food safety / quality processes.

We are looking for a seasoned leader coming from the manufacturing space who is comfortable getting their hands dirty when needed, and can also be a leader from a project management / budgeting perspective. This role will have about 40% travel for the first year during our SAP implementation where you'll visit various plants on the east coast, though long term the role will only have travel 10-20% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the development and implementation of the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective technology solutions.
• Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring optimal use of resources and cost-efficiency.
• Implement and maintain network security measures to protect the company's data and systems.
• Manage IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with other departments to understand their technology needs and provide appropriate solutions.
• Stay abreast of the latest technology trends and advancements, and leverage this knowledge to drive the company's technology strategy.
• Ensure the company's IT systems and processes comply with relevant laws and regulations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the IT team, fostering their professional growth and development.
• Oversee successful completion of a SAP implementation.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master's degree will be considered an advantage.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior IT leadership role, with a proven track record of successfully managing IT projects and teams.
• Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
• Experience with SAP or related ERP software, as well as strong experience with network and systems administration.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within tight deadlines.
• Strong budgeting skills, with a proven track record of managing IT budgets effectively.
• Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex IT concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Up-to-date knowledge of the latest IT trends and advancements.
