Job Summary:
Ruggable is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic data leader to join our Technology Team. As the Senior Director of Data, you will be directly responsible for Ruggable’s data engineering strategy and the delivery of our data platform/product. You will help foster and manage a group of highly skilled engineers to oversee our roadmap, data ingestion, modeling, etc. We are looking for someone to transform our global data ecosystem to meet the needs of our scaling teams/business. You will work closely with members of our senior leadership and executive teams and will be a tremendous part of our success story.
What You’ll Do:
In this role, your leadership and expertise will shape, drive and define our global data engineering and analytics strategies in support of business initiatives and roadmaps
Design, build & extend our data platform and backend services to support a broad range of requirements and use cases across the organization
Lead our data infrastructure, working with vendors and platforms to support high reliability, robustness and performance
Lead the decision making process for building and onboarding new technologies and ensuring best fit within our existing infrastructure
Work closely with our Product team to identify and deliver against company objectives
Lead and mentor a team of Data and Analytics Engineers to ensure that we accomplish company-wide data objectives
Assess gaps in current data ecosystem and determine best approach to fill
What You’ll Need to Have:
Required:
8+ years of people management experience with a proven track record of designing and implementing complex data solutions
Experience with the Ruggable data stack: AWS (Redshift & Lamdas), dbt, Meltano, Fivetran
Excellent SQL knowledge and expertise using modern data programming languages like Python to manipulate data
Experience creating dashboards and reporting using visualization tools like Looker (preferred), Tableau, or PowerBI
Understanding of CI/CD methodologies and how to establish Data Ops pipelines to orchestrate end-to-end data workflows
Preferred:
Experience with BigQuery and Snowflake
Experience leveraging LLMs for summarization, discovery, engagement and visualization
Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced, swiftly-changing startup environment
BA/BS in Math, Computer Science, Analytics, Data Science, or other quantitative field desirable
Compensation:
$200,000 - $220,000 per year base salary
An annual bonus percentage that varies based on level of role
Employer matching (up to 3% of base salary) for company sponsored 401K plan
