Senior Director, Integrated Care

Open Door is currently seeking a Senior Director, Integrated Care based out of our Tarrytown, NY headquarters. This position ensures that Open Door’s network of behavioral health services delivers on our promise of whole person care. The Senior Director translates our vision of whole person care across our complex network to ensure each patient receives best in class service, regardless of where they seek their care within Open Door. Integrated care at Open Door results in people engaging in care in ways that improve their health (physical and behavioral health), increase their connection to communities of their choosing and lead to meaningful life activities.

The Senior Director, Integrated Care is a leader across and within a network inclusive of primary care, prevention and health promotion activities, community supports, and specialty behavioral health services. We seek to be an exemplar in our clinical models, technology and ability to deliver results. The successful candidate is capable and knowledgeable in cutting edge practice strategies in whole person care while simultaneously excelling in regulatory models for FQHCs and OMH/OASAS Licenses within New York State. The Senior Director ensures that services are fully integrated across all settings and provided according to the patient-centered medical home model, with an emphasis on patient-focused, team-based care. Primary responsibilities include building a skilled team to expand the SUD/MOUD program, supervision of program staff, oversight of program quality and productivity, and cross-departmental leadership, coordination, and collaboration. This role reports to the Executive Vice President, Community Health is available as a hybrid position following a 90 day orientation period.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Utilize subject matter expertise in behavioral health policy, payment and delivery reforms, and service design to ensure Open Door is an exemplar in delivering behavioral health within an integrated, whole person network.
  • Utilize subject matter expertise in Medicaid initiatives, policy, and payment models that drive behavioral health system transformation.
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership to program staff and supervisors.
  • Collaborate directly with treatment and recovery organizations to expand the Open Door Care Network’s reach via strategic planning, business development, grant writing, new service line design and implementation, community needs assessment, and other service approaches.
  • Understands and interprets analysis of behavioral health industry trends, regulations, and best practices to infuse this knowledge within the network.
  • Oversee staff and subcontractors across behavioral health, providing guidance, coaching, and quality assurance.

Skills

  • Ability to clearly establish project goals and objectives, create, and maintain project work plans, and deliver project objectives and deliverables on-time, within budget, using all available resources, resulting in client satisfaction with services.
  • Ability to design and utilize tools to support project planning, execution, budget tracking/monitoring, and management, coordinating activities between various work streams.
  • Ability to plan the logistics for and execute meetings to deliver whole person care.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, counseling,

social sciences, or a related field, with a clinically-oriented degree and license a plus.

  • 10+ years of experience providing leadership in behavioral health systems, payers, or

treatment and recovery providers. Experience working at management level of state and/or local behavioral health or Medicaid authorities preferred, given Open Door’s interest in the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic model.

  • Deep expertise in the aspects of a high-functioning behavioral health system, including

behavioral health policy, financing, service design, and evidence-based practices, as well as experience leading behavioral health system transformation efforts.

  • Expertise in behavioral health service delivery, including evidence-based practices and

outpatient, residential, and inpatient services in behavioral health.

  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods, program evaluation, and quality improvement.
  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both

verbally and in writing.

  • Understanding of organizational change principles, and ability to build consensus and foster change in a client business or government setting.
  • Proficient at facilitation, engagement, and overall relationship building, with

exceptional interpersonal skills.

  • Enthusiastic about engaging in business development activities and expanding Open Door’s portfolio.
