The Role:

We are seeking to expand the Generate:Biomedicines Therapeutic Research team by inviting an innovative and strategic Senior Director /Director of Immunology & Inflammation (I&I) to join our group in advancing protein-based therapeutics in the I&I area . Our established and prioritized I&I portfolio includes one molecule currently in phase 1 and a fast - paced pipeline of over 5 preclinical programs. The successful candidate will represent this I&I pipeline from both a scientific and strategic perspective . We are searching for a passionate and highly motivated individual who is comfortable working in a nimble and entrepreneurial environment. The Senior Director will have extensive experience building and guiding a portfolio of therapeutics in the I&I space, including direct experience with discovery through late-stage research program leadership, regulatory filings and translating protein-based therapeutics to the clinic. This individual will bring extensive experience guiding therapeutic research from conception into clinic, including direct experience with late-stage research program leadership, regulatory filings and translating protein-based therapeutics into IND, including best in class and novel therapeutics. The candidate should uphold the highest standards of research and have a sustained record of being a thoughtful people leader, fostering an environment of development and scientific curiosity.

Here's how you will contribute:

• Lead a highly skilled team of 11 Associate Directors, Scientists, and Research Associates to advance best in class and novel therapeutics in immunology and inflammatory disease research.
• Be a go-to preclinical strategic thought partner and preclinical expert in discovery through late-stage research, Investigational New Drug filings and phase 1.
• Be a cross-functional program lead on fast paced therapeutic internal and partnered programs.
• Effectively manage programs through Program Leaders within the team, including mentorship of junior scientists.
• Identify and advance new opportunities, targets, and modalities and be an expert resource to guide business development opportunities.
• Partner effectively with computational sciences, protein sciences, commercial, and clinical to develop and execute on our portfolio
• Be a flexible, open and inquisitive leader in drug development and lead through ambiguity
• Support the scientific and career development of highly skilled leaders, scientists, and research associates on the team.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

• Ph.D. in Immunology or related field with 15+ years of direct experience conceptualizing and leading therapeutic research programs into early clinical development. We will also consider top talent at the Director level with 12-15 years of related experience.
• Proven scientific leadership on global therapeutic product teams required.
• Extended track record of being an outstanding leader and collaborator, a creative problem-solver, and a role model for your reports and colleagues.
• Proven direct leadership of multiple IND and early Phase 1 stage therapeutics across multiple modalities.
• Proven effective collaboration with clinical and translational sciences colleagues to advance therapeutics required.
• Deep knowledge of preclinical studies required for regulatory filings and clinical translation required
• Innovative mindset and desire to work in a fast paced dynamic environment, and collaborate openly with others.
• Proven excellence in development and leadership of a scientific team
