Seagate’s Global Marketing Organization is responsible for defining the brand positioning for Seagate’s corporate and portfolio of products, promoting the brand for greater awareness and interest, and contributing to more revenue. The group includes all marketing functions such as Brand Marketing, Public Relations, Demand Generation, Brand Creative and Total Customer Experience.

About The Role - You Will

We are seeking a **Senior Director, Global Public Relations** to join our dynamic Global Marketing team. This individual will own earned media strategy and execution as well as play a pivotal role in shaping and communicating our company's narrative to a global audience.

What are the daily job duties? What is expected of the employee?

  • Strategic Communication Planning
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive external media communications strategy aligned with Seagate business objectives and brand positioning.
  • Align with Brand Marketing and Brand Creative on the holistic brand messaging strategy and integrated brand activation plan
  • Understand the communications landscape and needs of various audiences, provide regular updates and inputs to help evolve the brand positioning and priorities.
  • Media and Industry Analyst Relations
  • Proactively engage with target media outlets to secure positive coverage and manage the company's reputation.
  • Act as a spokesperson for Seagate, building and maintaining relationships with key journalists and industry influencers.
  • Crisis Communication
  • Develop and implement crisis communication plans, providing timely and transparent communication during challenging situations.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for media inquiries during crises.
  • Executive Communication
  • Support executive leadership in crafting speeches, presentations, and other communication materials that are aligned with overall brand messaging strategy
  • Provide media training for executives and spokespeople to enhance their communication skills.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Align and collaborate with stakeholders from Investor Relations (IR), Internal Communications, and other functions to ensure a unified and consistent message.
  • Team Leadership
  • Lead and inspire a diverse, global team of communications professionals, providing mentorship and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment
  • Set clear goals and objectives for the team, monitoring progress, and ensuring successful execution of comms initiatives.
  • Evaluate and refine operational processes to improve coordination and efficiency across the Public Relations team, agencies, and broader Marketing organization.
  • Participate in the Brand & Communications leadership team to maintain a cohesive operating model and continue to foster/evolve our uniquely outstanding team culture.

About You

  • Demonstrated ability to build cross-functional partnerships with teams within marketing and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable global media relations experience including a range of technology and business media outlets.
  • Demonstrate experience in managing multiple global and regional public relation agencies effectively.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • A passion and enthusiasm for emerging technologies, experimentation, building new things, and a stomach for the exploration and iteration it takes.

Your Experience Includes

  • Excellent people leadership with a consistent record of accomplishment of building and developing high-performing comms organizations.
  • A team-focused obsession that makes you an effective team member and a great team leader.
  • Crisis communication experience on a global scale.
  • Deep experience in global corporate communications or related roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field or equivalent experience.

The estimated base salary range for this position: $185,500 - $275,000. Actual salary range is based on the regional labor market of the role in the geography in which the position is located based on the requirements of the job and your skills. This posted salary range is a good faith and reasonable estimate, and Seagate reserves the right to adjust this range depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
