Senior Development + Production Manager

Looking for a dynamic leader to help spearhead a new division of Proenza Schouler. This person should be a forward thinker with excellent management and multi-tasking skills to navigate the needs and demands on a daily basis. Someone who is looking to lead a growth opportunity and is highly collaborative but also autonomous when needed.



Responsibilities:


  • Manage daily communication with overseas factories and ensure all are adhering to T&A for Protos, SMS, PPS, TOPs through to final bulk shipping stage for x2 collections per year.
  • Work closely with Head Designer to establish development needs including style launches, sourcing, calendar and fittings.
  • Collaborate with Fabric and Trim team to establish calendar and deadlines, sourcing into key price points and both design and merchandising requests.
  • Manage style launches directly with factories, also overseeing fittings, fit comments and final samples.
  • Oversee timelines with Technical Design team to achieve both development and production calendars.
  • Oversee weekly maintenance of Production WIP chart.
  • Manage and send weekly Production shipping report to head of department and review on a weekly basis the bulk shipping status with Logistics.
  • Build/manage seasonal Production booking calendar with all vendors and communicate T&A requirements with Tech & Merchandising. Build/manage separate purchasing calendar for Merchandising ensuring they adhere to deadlines.
  • Manage all bookings from projection stage through final PO stage with all vendors, working towards minimizing chases + liabilities.
  • Manage all RLM functions for production – entering of cost and Purchase Orders.
  • Manage sample budget and report to head of department on monthly basis.
  • Handle invoice approvals and processing through internal system.
  • Oversee shipping document approvals and partner with head of department on any bulk deposit/payment schedules.
  • Responsible for reporting estimate liability at end of projection phase for all materials.
  • Lead weekly team meetings and engage cross functional partners throughout production phases. Spearhead collaborative problem solving when necessary.
  • Manage all liability materials and collaborate with Materials Manager + Development partner to propose cut up program to Sales/Ecom. Responsible for reporting shared liability report to Finance quarterly.
  • Responsible for costing of all knit + wovens in advance of each development fitting stage and communicate margin challenges to all cross functional partners ahead of time / spearhead collaborative problem solving.
  • Manage cost negotiations through production stage and enter final costs in RLM.
  • Strategize with Merchandising, Materials partner and head of department on bulk fabric investments.
  • Spearhead in collaboration with Development partner, sustainable business practices within the factories.
  • Receive BOMs from Development at handoff stage and manage the maintenance through bulk shipping.
  • Co-manage sourcing of new factories globally with Development partner and work towards department goal of diversifying COO.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliancy with all new vendors, gathering audits etc…
  • Initiate and oversee all GB (knits) + performance testing (knits + wovens), starting in development phase when needed, track spending and communicate with Sales/Logistics in case of failure.
  • Build and manage bulk QC process with all vendors, holding all vendors accountable for quality on all units.
  • Liaise with Logistics/Sales team throughout Development and Production.
  • Manage Development + Production Assistant on all functions, guiding and leading them to grow and succeed in role.



Qualifications:


  • 6-8 years of experience in Product Development and/or Production including working with luxury RTW product.
  • Excellent coordination and logistical skills including creative problem solving and solution-oriented ideas.
  • Strong experience in Excel, RLM and/or other PLM systems.
  • Works well in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt quickly.
  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Strong Management skills of both a team and process.




The targeted base salary range for this role is $90,000-$100,000. Actual salary offered may be above or below this range based on factors such as, relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. This role is also eligible for additional benefits including an annual performance-based incentive program and a seasonal clothing allowance.
