Senior Design Engineer

TalentAmp is hiring a Senior Design Engineer for one of our direct clients in the Manufacturing industry in Houston, Texas for an on-site role.

Location: Houston, Texas

Type of Employment: Direct Hire

1. Project Management and Coordination: Manage multiple projects, including cross-functional facilitation and ensuring alignment with business standards, practices, and procedures.
2. Leadership and Team Management: Lead and mentor engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and support to achieve program goals.
3. Technical Expertise and Documentation: Demonstrate engineering expertise, document technical data, and ensure accurate reporting of project status and developments.
4. Time Management and Organizational Skills: Exhibit strong time management skills to prioritize and execute tasks efficiently.
5. Communication and Presentation: Monitor and communicate project progress, business issues, and significant developments; participate in technical and program reviews as a presenter or reviewer.
6. Technical Proficiency: Experience with composites and resin systems, CAD systems (SolidWorks proficiency), and relevant engineering tools.
7. Software Skills: Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
8. Leadership and Interpersonal Skills: Strong leadership capabilities, cross-functional experience, and a commitment to continuous improvement and Lean initiatives.
9. Manufacturing and Process Knowledge: Understanding of Six Sigma tools, compression molding, manufacturing methods, and composite manufacturing.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience and Skills: Minimum 7 years of engineering experience with strong project management skills (MS Project).
• Communication Abilities: Excellent oral and written communication skills, both technical and non-technical.
• Customer and Team Interaction: Effectively communicates and executes customer expectations, fostering teamwork within and between departments.
• Leadership: Demonstrates leadership in conveying business goals, programs, and processes for a specific area or business segment.
