The Senior Design Architect is a key role responsible for overseeing the architectural design process from conception to completion. They collaborate closely with clients, project managers, and design teams to develop innovative and functional design solutions that meet project objectives while adhering to budgetary and scheduling constraints. This role requires a deep understanding of architectural principles, design trends, and construction methodologies, as well as strong leadership and communication skills to guide and inspire team members.

Job Responsibilities

• Design Leadership: Lead the architectural design process, providing creative direction and vision to project teams. Generate design concepts, sketches, and presentations that effectively communicate ideas to clients and stakeholders.
• Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, from initial concept development through construction documentation. Coordinate with project managers to ensure that design deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
• Client Collaboration: Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding design-related matters. Conduct client meetings, presentations, and workshops to gather requirements, present design proposals, and solicit feedback.
• Team Collaboration: Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, encouraging open communication and idea-sharing among team members. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior architects and designers.
• Design Development: Oversee the development of architectural plans, drawings, and models using industry-standard software tools. Ensure that designs comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards.
• Quality Assurance: Review design deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project requirements. Conduct periodic design reviews to assess progress and identify areas for improvement.
• Construction Administration: Provide support during the construction phase, responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and addressing design-related issues that arise on-site. Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and consultants to ensure that the design intent is maintained throughout the construction process.
• Professional Development: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in architectural design. Participate in continuing education opportunities and professional organizations to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
• Professional licensure (RA) required.
• 8+ years of experience in architectural design.
• Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong design portfolio showcasing innovative and conceptually driven projects.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven leadership abilities with a track record of successfully leading design teams.
• Knowledge of sustainable design principles and WELL or LEED certification is a plus.
• Position only available to candidates residing in EST or CST time zones.
