Position Overview

At Strive, this role will be proficient in managing database user accounts, ensuring data integrity, monitoring database performance, optimizing storage efficiency, implementing robust database security measures, enabling seamless data sharing, conducting regular backups, and executing timely data recoveries.

Key Responsibilities

• Create instances and views, and write SQL queries as necessary to support database operations
• Manage extents, perform database backups, and execute recovery procedures as part of routine DBA responsibilities
• Develop tables, columns, triggers, stored procedures, and complex queries to meet application requirements
• Resolve database issues causing unscheduled downtime exceeding two full workdays
• Administer multiple database applications and configuration management software
• Provide technical support for data retrieval and updates to government and contractor teams
• Support complex database design and customization, including schema and subschema management
• Offer support and maintenance for relational database software packages
  
  

Required Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• This job is 75% remote with 25% travel (about 3-4 times a year)
• 7+ years experience in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of database management systems
• PostgreSQL and mySQL database
• Must be able work in co-location systems as well cloud based (AWS and GCP)
• Thorough knowledge of the software/system development life cycle (SDLC)
