About You: You are a seasoned cost estimator with a passion for training and mentoring others. You have a proven track record of leading teams and producing high-quality deliverables. Your client-centric approach drives business growth, and you excel in technical writing and understanding client needs. You are proactive, resourceful, and thrive in a dynamic environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead Advanced Cost Estimates and Change Orders:
Scope projects and address client concerns promptly.
Utilize resources effectively, ensuring staff hours are within limits.
Ensure technical accuracy and effective communication with clients.
Client Management:
Manage and grow a portfolio of clients and associated projects.
Maintain professional communication and participate in client-facing activities.
Develop strong client relationships and ensure excellent CPARS/PPQ ratings.
Negotiate add-on services effectively.
Team Leadership:
Mentor and train technical staff, fostering a professional and enjoyable work environment.
Attend business development events and contribute to client acquisition efforts.
Technical Writing and Special Projects:
Produce project write-ups, reports, studies, and technical documents.
Lead special projects like CSRA, research studies, and PACES estimates.
Support proposal development with necessary technical information.
Achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Ensure high client satisfaction with exceptional CPARS/PPQ ratings.
Mentor team members to achieve their KPIs and maintain project profitability.
Coordination and Documentation:
Collaborate with project managers, operations, and business development teams.
Maintain project files and contact lists in SharePoint as per HPG standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Design, Engineering, Construction Management, or Economics.
5+ years of relevant experience, particularly in projects exceeding $250 million.
Proven leadership and mentoring skills within an estimating team.
Strong client management and relationship-building skills.
Proficiency in MCACES MII, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Crystal Ball, OnScreen Takeoff, and other estimating software.
Advanced Excel and technical writing skills.
Nice to Have:
Professional Cost Estimating Certification (CCP or CEP).
Membership in professional organizations like AFCEA, SAME, etc.
