Senior Controller

StevenDouglas is partnering with a Virginia based start up company that has received a large investment that with propel the research and development of the company. We are looking for a Senior Controller to join the growing team team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in startup environments and is prepared to take on diverse responsibilities, acting as the primary figure in accounting and finance. The candidate should possess a robust background in startups or early-stage operations, ready to establish and manage financial processes from inception.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all financial operations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulations.
• Lead the end-to-end implementation of ERP systems, from selection to full deployment.
• Establish and maintain comprehensive accounting and finance protocols.
• Supervise inventory accounting for precise tracking and reporting.
• Prepare and present financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to executives.
• Conduct financial analysis to inform strategic decisions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
• Coordinate annual audits and manage tax filings.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support overall business objectives and growth.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in senior controllership, ideally within a startup or early-stage company.
• Extensive hands-on experience with ERP systems implementation.
• Strong proficiency in inventory accounting.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Self-motivated with the ability to operate effectively in a lean team environment.
• Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Residence in VA preferred.
