The British Tourist Authority (BTA) is the national tourism agency and a non-departmental public body funded by the Department of Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) and trades under the name of VisitBritain/VisitEngland (VB/VE).

Main purpose of the role

The Senior Communications Manager/Director works to develop and implement an annual integrated Communications plan for VB-USA. Working through an extensive list of media contacts. One of the key purposes of this position is to enable the delivery of VB’s strategic PR and communications objectives by proactively pitching key themes & ideas, showcasing VB and our activities, and increasing our profile through desk-side pitching, media visits, events, content creation trips through influencers and general media coverage.


Together with the wider team in London, the post-holder will take the lead in both the planning and execution of Corporate Communications for the region, including those related to the role VisitBritain plays to drive Government tourism agenda including the profile of the Chairman, CEO, Directors, and EVP of the region.


The role also works with other members of the Americas team (including marketing, public diplomacy and B2B), to ensure communications are part of the integrated approach to delivery across the region, and act as a PR champion within the region and the organization.
