Description
The Amazon Fresh Grocery team is looking for a Senior Category Manager to lead multiple facets of an omni-channel retail business (e.g., buying/vendor management, product management, operations, marketing/merchandising) and identify growth opportunities within our Packaged Baker space. They will be able to deliver results at both a strategic and tactical level across all aspects of the business.
You will have accountability for business results of your product categories. Your direct responsibility will be to manage performance of the product portfolio including developing and growing vendor relationships, expanding product selection and vendor base, leading negotiations, setting category strategy, developing marketing programs, driving sales and margin improvements and creating best-in-class customer experiences.
The ideal candidate will have strong customer experience intuition, business and product sense combined with solid understanding of technical concepts. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. High judgment, ability to influence, analytical talent, exceptional communications, and leadership are essential to success in this role.

Basic Qualifications
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $96,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Key job responsibilities
- Develop and lead weekly, monthly, and annual business reviews and sales planning processes.
- Establish and lead implementation of category learnings, insight and business strategies, driving prioritization and mitigation of risks substantiated and balanced by sound business/market rationale and thought leadership.
- Manage and own the promotional strategy and planning across all channels including iteration, developing a bundling strategy, modeling, forecasting, and post-analysis reporting to inform our decision making on future programs.
- Identify new approaches for growing the business, driving initiatives to increase category awareness, and creating processes to better manage the performance of the category over the long term.
- Partner with retail teams in offline and online channels regarding strategic business planning, identifying opportunities, and evaluating marketing solutions that drive profitable sales growth.
- Partner with sales in crafting analysis, actions, and messaging for key strategic topics, as well as monthly/quarterly business review meetings.

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of with Excel experience
- Bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of professional or military experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Access or SQL
- Experience with business analysis and P&L management
- Experience using data to influence business decisions
- Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
- MBA
