The Assistant Director of Practice Education and Career Services manages practice education experiences (e.g., internships, practicums, projects) and related assessment for Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH) and Master of Public Health (MPH) students; provides applicable career services and support to students and alumni;, delivers workshops and classroom presentations; designs and implements communications for faculty/staff, employers, students, and graduates; and plans and coordinates career events. The individual in this position must be committed to creating and supporting a welcoming, open, and inclusive environment for all students and constituents.

Additional Information

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 4 years of relevant experience required

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree, preferably in student affairs or higher education. Any and all degree(s) must be from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Five years of professional experience in career services, higher education or related industry role performing a variety of career coaching and career counseling-related activities.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective rapport with students, employers, faculty and staff.
  • Excellent event planning and project management skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and logistics for career-related programming.
  • Excellent public speaking and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and operate under high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proficient knowledge of and experience with NACE core competencies.
  • Experience preparing students for post-graduation success through career education and skill and professional development.
  • Experience working with faculty on career education curriculum integration.
  • Ability to effectively interact and develop relationships with employers.

Pay Range

$51,000 - $67,000 Annually

  • The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
