This role is in support of our Business Insights and Data Science Team reporting to the Director of Business Insights Development, you will have a strong focus on maturing our data repository while partnering with our business to provide the data needed to effectively run their operations.
What You'll Do
Gather internal and external requirements for data requests and report creation
Establish an understanding of enterprise data elements to be able to assess availability and limitations of deliverables
Validate and normalize requirements and user stories
Assisting in the creation of the enterprise BI roadmap
Accept or reject requests for the BI & Data Science team Backlog, categorize and prioritize requests
Work with BI Analysts, BI Developers and BI engineers to obtain high level estimates of work
Review and accept completed user stories and tasks
Publish regular status updates/dashboards throughout the Kanban cycle
Facilitates standups, backlog grooming, Kanban Retros, review/Demo sessions for the teams
Involves team in identifying and removing impediments and known risks continuously
Ensures cross-team and inter-team transparency and communication on scope, goals, milestones, risk, and critical issues
Train junior Business Insights Analysts
Conducts feedback sessions with business owners, project sponsors and team to ensure positive value and overall satisfaction
What We're Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related area
3-5 years of relevant work experience in a Business Analyst role
Must be able to clearly articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills teamed with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
Ability to develop successful and lasting relationships with internal and external customers
Working knowledge of Agile software development process
Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, multi-task, and prioritize workload
Solid understanding of various Agile frameworks (Kanban), values, and principles
Preferred
Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience
Experience working with SQL technologies (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, Query Development) a plus
Experience working with data focused technical teams strongly preferred
Experience using Agile-tracking tools (Jira, Rally, TFS, Azure Dev Ops) a plus
Experience in a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company preferred
