Position Overview
As a Bond Underwriter, you will play a vital role in our team, leveraging your expertise to underwrite accounts and contribute to the success of our company. You'll have the opportunity to gain valuable experience while assisting in the development and maintenance of strong relationships with our agency partners.
Key Responsibilities
Underwrite accounts within assigned authority level and provide service to existing bond accounts.
Analyze financial statements, work in progress reports, and assess creditworthiness.
Mentor and provide training support to fellow bond underwriters.
Cultivate and nurture new agency relationships while managing existing ones.
Educate agents on our bond philosophy and services, effectively marketing our offerings.
Maintain up-to-date files, establish new account files, and conduct account visits as necessary.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
Minimum five years of experience in bond underwriting or a related field.
Preferred designation: Associate in Fidelity and Surety Bonding (AFSB).
Skills And Qualifications
Strong understanding of bond underwriting principles.
Exceptional analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
Clear and concise written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficient in keyboarding, internet usage, and computer applications.
Outstanding interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.
Ability to travel; possession of a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report.
Compensation
As per the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position for Colorado-based team members is $88,000 - $113,000. Salary ranges for other locations may vary.
