Job Description

Reporting to the Director & Head of Benefits, the Senior Benefits & Leave of Absence Analyst role will assist in the development, implementation, administration and coordination of employee benefits and employee leave of absence programs in accordance with guidelines and policies while providing a high level of customer service to internal customers. This role will spend approximately 50% of its time focused on employee leave of absences, including vendor management, policies, and processes.

Major Responsibilities And Projects

  • Primary point of contact for all escalated employee leave of absence inquiries and issues related to FMLA, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Military, Domestic Partner, State and other leave of absence programs.
  • Assist with management and oversight of leave processes and the leave of absence vendor relationship.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations, including state disability and family leave, ADA, and FMLA and remain current with new and changing state leave programs to ensure compliance.
  • Participate in Annual Enrollment process including planning, preparation, communications, and execution of related year end processes.
  • Serve as the escalation point and manage resolution of escalated employee benefits inquiries and issues.
  • Assist with drafting and development of employee communications, HR and leadership presentations.
  • Responsible for ensuring data integrity and accuracy with respect to incoming and outgoing vendor files, payroll deductions, and benefits elections by conducting periodic and ongoing data audits.
  • Provide guidance to HR Business Partners, HR Shared Services and other internal teams regarding health and welfare benefits and retirement plans.
  • Develop reporting and metrics as the benefits program evolve and the benefits group adapts to the needs of stakeholders, including monthly reporting, diagnostic reports, and management reports.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement in the Benefits COE department to achieve greater efficiencies with respect to operation and administration of benefits plans/programs.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.

The Ideal Candidate Must Have The Following Skills

  • Experience assisting with leave of absence program administration and working with external leave vendors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize effectively, and work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) with ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout the organization.
  • Strong proficiency and extensive experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams, experience with Workday preferred.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related discipline.
  • 8+ years of leave of absence and employees benefits experience.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding Human Resources Management Software (HRMS) database designs, structures, functions, processes, reports, and database tools.
  • Integrated knowledge and understanding of Human Resources and Benefits data, concepts, practices, systems, analysis, reporting and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations affecting Human Resources and Benefits (federal, state, and local) for multiple states, as well as required recordkeeping/administration.
