Job Title: Senior Associate, Private Equity


East 57th Street Partners is on the lookout for a talented and ambitious Senior Associate, Private Equity on behalf of one of our premier private equity clients. This role is designed for a finance professional who demonstrates a strong track record in financial analysis, deal execution, and portfolio management within the private equity sector. The Senior Associate will play a crucial role in evaluating investment opportunities, executing transactions, and supporting the active management of portfolio companies to drive growth and value creation.


Role Summary:

The Senior Associate, Private Equity will be an integral part of the investment team, contributing to all aspects of the investment process from origination to exit. This includes conducting market research, financial modeling, due diligence, deal structuring, and portfolio company oversight. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of financial markets, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed financial analysis and modeling to evaluate investment opportunities, including analyzing company financials, building LBO models, and assessing potential returns.
  • Participate in the due diligence process, coordinating with external advisors and internal teams to assess the financial, operational, and strategic aspects of target companies.
  • Assist in the preparation of investment memoranda and presentations for the investment committee, providing comprehensive overviews of investment rationale, deal structure, and expected outcomes.
  • Support the deal execution process, working closely with legal, financial, and operational advisors to ensure smooth transaction closings.
  • Monitor the performance of portfolio companies, working with management teams to implement strategic initiatives, operational improvements, and prepare for exit strategies.
  • Contribute to the firm’s portfolio management efforts, including quarterly reporting, valuation analysis, and investment performance tracking.
  • Engage in market research and industry analysis to identify trends, investment themes, and potential targets within preferred sectors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field; MBA or relevant graduate degree is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, or management consulting, with a proven track record in financial modeling and analysis.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct thorough financial analysis and valuations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with team members, portfolio company management, and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • High level of initiative and self-motivation, with a strong desire to contribute to the success of the team and the firm.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for deal execution and portfolio company oversight.
