Responsibilities

The Senior Research Analyst is a critical part of the firm’s research group, reporting directly to the firm’s Head of Research.

The role’s responsibilities are varied and include at least the following:

  • Run point on investment manager due diligence, assessing investment managers and strategies currently used by clients as well as those that might be used in the future
  • Support the firm’s long-term capital markets forecasting process, near-term views, and topical research
  • Build relationships within the industry to help identify managers worthy of consideration in our portfolio development process
  • Support the consulting team and clients by conducting one-off research and analysis in response to client requests and/or needs
  • Prepare for, help facilitate, and actively participate in the Syntrinsic Investment Committee decision-making process
  • Develop materials for and participate in client meetings, client events, prospective client meetings, panel discussions, conferences, and other educational opportunities
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to meet firm and client needs

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in manager research, with a comprehensive understanding of the investment manager due diligence process
  • Experience and interest in monitoring and analyzing the capital markets, and researching and authoring thought pieces on investing and capital markets
  • While not a requirement, familiarity with investing through a values lens (e.g., environmental social and governance integration, faith-based investing, thematic impact investing, etc.) is beneficial
  • Ability to work effectively with economic data
  • Attention to detail
  • Good organizational skills
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills, including experience presenting investment ideas to an investment committee or similar body
  • Ability to work laterally across the organization to benefit clients
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of research tools including Bloomberg, Morningstar, MSCI, Pitchbook, as well as software tools such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

Compensation And Benefits

Compensation and benefits will depend on several factors including previous experience. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision benefits, as well as a 401(k) match. This position includes the potential for advancement within the firm, dependent on employee performance and the overall needs of the firm. The position also includes opportunities to become an IMA Financial Group shareholder, per the terms of IMA’s stock ownership process.

Salary Range

$116,000—$160,150 USD
