The Senior Advisor for Policy Special Projects oversees the day to day operations of the policy team, including approving or managing the approvals of all department products, structuring meetings, and working with other campaign teams. The Senior Advisor for Policy Special Projects reports to the Policy Director and will manage a small team.

Key Responsibilities

  • As a member of the policy team, this person will help manage team member workflows, schedules, and ensure the team’s workload is evenly distributed; Manage the team’s day to day operations including; running daily check-ins, meeting one on one with team members, collaborating with the deputy directors on upcoming projects and assignments, and supporting the director in their work with various stakeholders
  • Organize convenings with external validators and develop or approve strategic plans to help mobilize them
  • Work across campaign teams as the policy team’s liaison to ensure streamlined communication and collaboration
  • Oversee the development of team materials and provide direction and feedback including performing final approvals
  • Assist the director as needed
  • Support the hiring and onboarding processes for all new team members;
  • Additional projects as assigned


Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • 7-9 years minimum of experience in policy, project management, or a similar field
  • Experience in the Biden administration or in Congress is strongly preferred
  • A team player with experience managing staff and ability to successfully execute on multiple initiatives;
  • An understanding of President Biden’s policy accomplishments and agenda
  • Relationships with policy experts
  • Extremely organized with a talent for designing and overseeing processes;
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, creativity, and strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines, as well as creatively solve problems;
  • Excellent time management skills; and, ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
