Turn2Partners is currently representing a Senior Accounting Manager opportunity with a Government Contractor company based here in Virginia. This position will report directly to the Controller, manage a team of accountants, and will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily accounting operations including month-end close, GL review and maintenance, reviewing A/P & A/R, Revenue Recognition and other duties as assigned.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including:
Manage the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial close deliverables, including assisting in preparation and/or review of financial statements, management reporting, etc.
Assist with review of financial reporting and program review packages
·Manage and review the work prepared by the outsourced accounting group, including A/P, A/R, G/L, Payroll, Billing, etc.
Assist Controller and CFO with preparing monthly and yearly budgets
Research accounting issues for compliance with GAAP, FAR, and CAS
Assist executive leadership, project managers and employees with financial and accounting related matters
Assist with calculating indirect rate pools and post labor distributions
Serve as the liaison to external auditors, including preparing supporting schedules and other documents, participating in audit calls, etc.
Identify areas of opportunity to become more efficient in processes and reporting
Partner with Controller and CFO to improve adequate accounting processes and procedures, and provide assessment of any inefficiencies with suggested improvements
Identify and improve internal controls
Assist with review of revenue recognition
Assist with other assignments and/or special projects as requested
REQUIRED SKILLS
Minimum B.S. in Accounting or relative related level of experience.
Minimum of 5+ years of accounting/finance experience, with exposure to preparing financial statements, general ledger accounts payable, accounts receivable, taxes, etc.
