The Role


As the Senior Accounting Manager, you will oversee the general ledger and AP functions, manage the month end close and help streamline accounting processes to drive faster and more efficient results. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded problem solver with a high attention to detail who thrives in a fast-paced and demanding environment, embraces a collaborative work style, is enthusiastic about driving change and reworking processes, and possesses a customer and operations focus. The Senior Accounting Manager will report to the Controller and will be an integral member of the accounting team.


Responsibilities


  • Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger functions such as fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, accounts payable and cash
  • Lead and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close activities, including preparation and review of all required analyses and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Drive continuous improvements to the close process through automation and transformation of legacy processes
  • Develop the A/P and GL team, providing guidance and mentoring on prioritization, technical understanding, and stakeholder collaboration
  • Enforce and help refine our accounting policies under US GAAP
  • Establish and maintain effective internal controls and review procedures for applicable areas
  • Provide analytical support to the finance and executive teams to drive improvements to operational & financial results
  • Coordinate audit requests including preparation of supporting reports and documentation for annual audit
  • Collaborate with FP&A department to support monthly and quarterly management reporting and flux analyses
  • Responsible for maintaining and optimizing key finance systems including NetSuite, FloQast, Concur and Zip (AP module)
  • Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to properly apply accounting guidance and improve business processes and policies
  • Partner with Controller on the implementation of new accounting standards and accounting for non-standard and technical accounting type transactions (business combinations, equity, leases, debt, etc.)
  • Mentor, develop and grow the existing accounting team to support the rapid growth of the company
  • Perform special projects and analyses on an ad-hoc basis, as required


Desired Skills & Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience in a fast-paced and rapidly changing business environment
  • At least 2 years’ experience with a Big-4 or equivalent national accounting firm is highly desirable
  • Experience at a late-stage private or public company in the technology industry is a plus
  • Experience working with one or more financial ERP/general ledger systems. NetSuite experience is a plus
  • Expertise in Excel and proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications
  • Leadership skills with evidence of developing accounting team members
  • High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively operate in a fast-paced team environment, manage competing priorities, and adhere to tight deadlines


Base Compensation Range


$125,000 - $145,000 annually


Base salary is one component of total compensation. Employees may also be eligible for an annual bonus or commission. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay.


The above represents the expected base compensation range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider many factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
