We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accounting Manager to oversee our finance department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, a proven track record of managing general ledger accounts, process improvement, and the ability to reconfigure monthly operating systems. This role requires a self-starter who ensures accuracy and efficiency in all accounting operations.
Job Description
Oversee the daily operations of finance activities , including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.
Maintain and reconfigure monthly operating systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial records and reports.
Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and/or statements.
Manage the general ledger accounts, including account reconciliation and month-end/year-end close processes.
Prepare yearly budgets and projections
Implement and achieve operational objectives such as developing action plans, audit operations and overall process improvement.
Provide leadership, training, and support to accounting staff.
Assist with budget preparation and financial planning processes.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
Minimum of 7+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Proven experience with managing general ledger accounts and month-end/year-end close processes.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of integrity and ethical standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Sage 50 and AppFolio.
